Notice Pursuant to the National Cooperative Research and
Production Act of 1993--Plastic Packaging Consortium
Notice is hereby given that, on August 30, 1995, pursuant to
section 6(a) of the National Cooperative Research and Production Act of
1993, 15 U.S.C. 4301 et seq. (``the Act''), the Plastic Packaging
Consortium has filed written notifications simultaneously with the
Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission disclosing (1) the
identities of the parties and (2) the nature and objectives of the
Consortium. The notifications were filed for the purpose of invoking
the Act's provisions limiting the recovery of antitrust plaintiffs to
actual damages under specified circumstances. Pursuant to section 6(b)
of the Act, the identities of the parties are: National Semiconductor
Corporation, Santa Clara, CA; Amoco Chemical Company, Naperville, IL;
Leading Technologies, Incorporated, Apollo, PA; Delco Electronics
Corporation, Kokomo, IN; Dexter Electronic Materials, Olean, NY; IPAC,
San Jose, CA; Olin Corporation Metals Research Laboratory, New Haven,
CT; Plaskon Electronic Materials, Inc., Rohm and Haas Company, Spring
House, PA; Sheldahl, Incorporated, Northfield, MN; and Sandia National
Laboratories, Albuquerque, NM.
The purpose of the Plastic Packaging Consortium is to advance the
technology and enhance the United States production capabilities of
plastic packaging for integrated microcircuits with the goal of
promoting both military and commercial customers to employ plastic
encapsulated integrated circuits in a wide variety of applications.
