SUMMARY:
In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, this notice announces the Maritime Administration's (MARAD's) intention to request extension of approval for three years of a currently approved information collection.

Title of Collection: Jones Act Vessel Availability Determinations.
Type of Request: Extension of currently approved information collection.
OMB Control Number: 2133-0545.
Form Numbers: MA-1074 and 1075.
Expiration Date of Approval: Three years from date of approval by the Office of Management and Budget.
Summary of Collection of Information: This collection of information will be used to gather information regarding the availability, location, and specifications of U.S.-flag vessels for the purpose of making vessel availability determinations. Need and use of the Information: The information is needed in order for the Maritime Administrator to make a timely and informed decision on the availability of coastwise qualified vessels in support of a request from the Department of Homeland Security prior to the final decision on granting a waiver request under 46 U.S.C. 501(b). The information will be specifically used to determine if there are coastwise qualified vessels available for a certain requirement.
Description of Respondents: Respondents include but are not limited to coastwise qualified vessel owners, operators, charterers, brokers and representatives.
Annual Responses: 255 responses.
Annual Burden: 383 hours.
