Legal Description for the Lechuguilla Cave Protection Area; New
Mexico
AGENCY: Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Interior.
ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: On December 2, 1993, Public Law (PL) 103-169, the Lechuguilla
Cave Protection Act of 1993 was signed into law. Section 3(c) of Public
Law 103-169 requires the Secretary of the Interior to publish in the
Federal Register a notice containing a legal description of the Area.
This notice contains that legal description.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Pursuant to section 3(c) of Public Law 103-
169 the following described lands within the Lechuguilla Cave
Protection Area are withdrawn from all forms of entry, appropriation,
or disposal under the United States mining laws; and from disposition
under all laws pertaining to mineral and geothermal leasing, and all
amendments thereto:

Sec. 20, NW\1/4\NE\1/4\, W\1/2\NW\1/4\, SE\1/4\ and (SW\1/4\
minerals only, private surface);
Sec. 21, E\1/2\, S\1/2\NW\1/4\, and SW\1/4\;
Sec. 22, 23, and 24;
Sec. 30, lots 1 to 4, inclusive, E\1/2\, and E\1/2\W\1/2\.
