American Electric Power Corporation; Notice of Filing

February 6, 1998.
    Take notice that on January 26, 1998, the American Electric Power 
Corporation (AEPSC), tendered for filing executed service agreements 
under the AEP Companies' Power Sales Tariff, The Power Sales Tariff was 
accepted for filing effective October 1, 1995, and has been designated 
AEP Companies' FERC Electric Tariff First Revised Volume No. 2. AEPSC 
requests waiver of notice to permit the service agreements to be made 
effective for service billed on and after December 26, 1997.
    A copy of the filing was served upon the Parties and the State 
Utility Regulatory Commission of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, 
Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
    Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., Washington, DC 20426, in 
accordance with Rules 211 and 214 of the Commission's Rules of Practice 
and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211 and 18 CFR 385.214). All such motions or 
protests should be filed on or before February 19, 1998. Protests will 
be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate action 
to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to the 
proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party must file a motion to 
intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission and 
are available for public inspection.
