Delta Region Preservation Commission; Meeting
Notice is hereby given in accordance with the Federal Advisory
Committee Act that a meeting of the Delta Region Preservation
Commission will be held at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, March 16, 1994, in the
Environmental Education Center, Barataria Preserve Unit, Jean Lafitte
National Historical Park and Preserve, 7400 Highway 45, Marrero,
Louisiana.
The Delta Region Preservation Commission was established pursuant
to section 907 of Public Law 95-625 (16 U.S.C. 230f), as amended, to
advise the Secretary of the Interior in the selection of sites for
inclusion in Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, and in
the implementation and development of a general management plan and of
a comprehensive interpretive program of the natural, historic, and
cultural resources of the Region.
The matters to be discussed at this meeting include:
--General Park Update
--Lake Salvado Erosion Barrier
--General Management Plan
--Natural Resources Protection Program
--Proposed Wildlife and Recreation Zone
--Nutria Populations
--Old Business
--New Business
The meeting will be open to the public. However, facilities and
space for accommodating members of the public are limited, and persons
will be accommodated on a first-come-first-served basis. Any member of
the public may file a written statement concerning the matters to be
discussed with the Superintendent, Jean Lafitte National Historical
Park and Preserve.
