    Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America; Notice of Proposed 
    Changes in FERC Gas Tariff
    
    February 9, 1999.
        Take notice that on February 4, 1999, Natural Gas Pipeline Company 
    of America (Natural) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas 
    Tariff, Sixth Revised Volume No. 1, Substitute Original Sheet No. 26A, 
    to be effective February 1, 1999.
        Natural states that the purpose of the filing is to implement a 
    Negotiated Rate Formula transaction with NorAm Energy Services, Inc. 
    pursuant to Section 49 of the General Terms and Conditions (GT&C) of 
    Natural's Tariff. Natural states that this filing revises the 
    Negotiated Rate Formula transaction previously submitted on February 2, 
    1999, at Docket No. RP99-176-002 to provide the clarity, accuracy and 
    completeness of the Negotiated Rate Formula information required by 
    Commission Policy.
        Natural requested waiver of the Commission's Regulations and 
    Section 49.1(e) of the GT&C of its Tariff to the extent necessary to 
    permit the tendered tariff sheet to become effective February 1, 1999.
        Natural states that copies of the filing are being mailed its 
    customers, interested state regulatory agencies and all parties set out 
    on the official service list at Docket No. RP99-176.
        Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest 
    with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., 
    Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
    Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as 
    provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests 
    will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate 
    action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to 
    the proceedings. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission 
    and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
