Public Service Company of New Mexico; Notice of Filing

February 11, 1998.
    Take notice that on January 30, 1998, Public Service Company of New 
Mexico, submitted a notice of termination of the 1997 Wholesale Power 
Agreement between Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM), and 
Texas-New Mexico Power Company (PNM FERC Rate Schedule No. 119 and 
Supplement No. 1) pursuant to Sec. 35.15(c) of the Rules and 
Regulations of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. By the express 
terms of Section 5 of the contract, it was in effect for the period 
January 1, 1997 through December 31, 1997. PNM's filing also is 
available for public inspection at its offices in Albuquerque, New 
Mexico.
    Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, 
in accordance with Rules 211 and 214 of the Commission's Rules of 
Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211 and 18 CFR 385.214). All such 
motions or protests should be filed on or before February 24, 1998. 
Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the 
appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants 
parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party must 
file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the 
Commission and are available for public inspection.
