SUMMARY:
In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, this notice announces that the Information Collection abstracted below will be submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and approval. The nature of the information collection is described as well as its expected burden. The Federal Register Notice with a 60-day comment period soliciting comments on the following collection of information was published on November 29, 2007. No comments were received.

Title of Collection: Request for Waiver of Service Obligation, Request for Deferment of Service Obligation and Application for Review.
Type of Request: Extension of currently approved information collection.
OMB Control Number: 2133-0510.
Expiration Date of Approval: Three years from date of approval by the Office of Management and Budget.
Affected Public: U.S. Merchant Marine Academy students and graduates, and subsidized students and graduates.
Form Numbers: MA-935, MA-936 and MA-937.
Abstract: This information collection is essential for determining if a student or graduate of the United States Start Printed Page 9853Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) or subsidized student or graduate of a State maritime academy has a waive able situation preventing them from fulfilling the requirements of a service obligation contract signed at the time of their enrollment in a Federal maritime training program. It also permits the Maritime Administration (MARAD) to determine if a graduate, who wishes to defer the service obligation to attend graduate school, is eligible to receive a deferment. Their service obligation is required by law.
Expiration Date of Approval: Three years from date of approval by the Office of Management and Budget.
Annual Estimated Burden Hours: 4.2 hours.
