    The Department of Treasury has submitted the following public 
information collection requirement(s) to OMB for review and clearance 
under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, Public Law 104-13. Copies of

    Special Request: In order to begin the survey described below in 
April 1997, the Department of the Treasury is requesting that the 
Office of Management and Budget (OMB) review and approve this

    Type of Review: Revision.
    Title: 1-900 Tax Practitioner Hotline Focus Group Interviews.
    Description: The IRS is conducting a series of nine (9) focus group 
interviews with tax practitioners. The objective of these focus groups 
is to determine:
     Are they willing to pay for the 1-900 hotline service?
     What services would they be willing to pay for?
     What services would they not be willing to pay for?
     Their suggestions for alternatives to a 1-900 hotline?

    Estimated Burden Hours Per Respondent: 3 hours.
