Agency Meeting
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the
Government in the Sunshine Act, Pub. L. 94-409, that the Securities and
Exchange Commission will hold the following open meeting during the
week of March 4, 1996.
An open meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 1996, at 10:00
a.m., in Room 1C30.
The subject matter of the open meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March
5, 1996, at 10:00 a.m., will be:
The Commission will consider releasing the staff report of the
Task Force on Disclosure Simplification. This report will contain a
number of recommendations designed to simplify, streamline, and
modernize the rules and forms addressing corporation finance. The
Task Force, composed of Commission staff members, was assisted by
Philip K. Howard. The Commission also will consider a recommendation
to publish a release proposing for comment the elimination of a
number of rules and forms, as well as other rule amendments, to
begin the implementation of Task Force recommendations. For further
