General Guidelines for the Recommendation of Sites for Nuclear 
Waste Repositories

AGENCY: Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management, Energy.
ACTION: Proposed rule; extension of public comment period.

SUMMARY: In response to requests from several interested persons, the 
Department of Energy has granted additional time to comment on proposed 
amendments to 10 CFR part 960 that were published at 61 FR 66157 
December 16, 1996.

DATES: Comments should be received no later than March 17, 1997.
