Notice of Availability of Procedures and Guidance for Filming and
Photography in Units of the National Park Service
AGENCY: National Park Service, Interior.
ACTION: Public notice.

SUMMARY: The National Park Service (NPS) has available for public
review, the proposed guidance and procedures document for commercial
Filming and Photography in units of the NPS. This information was
developed to provide guidance and procedures to all units of the
National Park System who deal with requests for commercial filming and
photography, including motion pictures, videos and still photography.
At the end of the review period, this material will appear in the NPS
Guideline for Special Park Uses distributed to all NPS units. This
document will provide guidance to park managers concerning all aspects
of requests for commercial filming and photography in the National Park
System, from the initial contact, through on-location protection of
resources, and ending with complete recovery and restoration of the
site. This document will replace the existing NPS Guideline, NPS-21,
and is an in-depth treatment of the subject.
