Filing Dates for the Maryland Special Elections
AGENCY: Federal Election Commission.
ACTION: Notice of Filing Dates for Special Elections.

SUMMARY: Maryland has scheduled special elections on March 5 and April
16, 1996, in the Seventh Congressional District to fill the U.S. House
seat being vacated by Congressman Kweisi Mfume.
Committees required to file reports in connection with the Special
Primary Election on March 5 should file a 12-day Pre-Primary Report on
February 22, 1996. Committees required to file reports in connection
with both the Special Primary and Special General Election to be held
on April 16, must file a 12-day Pre-Primary Report, a Pre-General
Report on April 8, and a Post-General Report on May 16, 1996.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: All principal campaign committees of
candidates in the Special Primary and Special General Elections and all
other political committees not filing monthly which support candidates
in these elections shall file a 12-day Pre-Primary Report on February
22, with coverage dates from the close of the last report filed, or the
day of the committee's first activity, whichever is later, through
February 14; a Pre-General Report on April 8, with coverage dates from
February 15 through March 31; and a Post-General Report on May 16, with
coverage dates from April 1 through May 6, 1996.
All principal campaign committees of candidates in the Special
Primary Election only and all other political committees not filing
monthly which support candidates in the Special Primary Election shall
file a 12-day Pre-Primary Report on February 22, with coverage dates
from the close of the last report filed, or the date of the committee's
first activity, whichever is later, through February 14, and an April
Quarterly Report on April 15, with coverage dates from February 15
through March 31, 1996.
All political committees not filing monthly which support
candidates in the Special General only shall file a Pre-General Report
on April 8, with coverage dates from the last report filed or the date
of the committee's first activity, whichever is later, through March
31, and a Post-General Report on May 16, with coverage dates from April
1 through May 6, 1996.
