Great Northern Paper, Inc.; Notice Extending the Time To Comment 
on Draft EIS

February 2, 1995.
    The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission) issued a 
Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for 2 projects on the 
Penobscot River Basin, Maine. The Notice of Availability of the DEIS 
appeared in the Federal Register on December 9, 1994, 59 FR 63791.
    In response to letters filed by the Penobscot Indian Nation on 
January 18, 1995, and by Great Northern Paper, Inc., on January 30, 
1995, the Commission is extending the comment period on the DEIS from 
February 8, 1995, until February 22, 1995.
    Anyone wishing to comment in writing on the DEIS must do so no 
later than February 22, 1995. Comments should be addressed to: Lois D. 
Cashell, Secretary, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 825 North 
Capitol Street NE., Washington, DC 20426.
    Written correspondence should clearly show the following caption on 
the first page: Penobscot River Basin Docket Nos. 2572 and 2458.
