Regulated Navigation Area; Ice Operations In Chesapeake Bay
AGENCY: Coast Guard, DOT.
ACTION: Notice of implementation.

SUMMARY: This document implements 33 CFR 165.503 the Ice Navigation
Season on the northern portion of the Chesapeake Bay and its
tributaries, including the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. This
regulated navigation area will be placed in effect on January 3, 1994.
The purpose of these Regulations is to enhance the safety of navigation
in the affected waters. It requires operators of certain vessels,
during their vessel's transit of the Regulated Navigation Area, to be
aware of currently effective Ice Navigation Season Captain of the Port
Orders issued by the Captain of the Port Baltimore.
EFFECTIVE DATES: This document is effective from January 3, 1994, until
such time as necessary for the safe transit of vessels in the area and
this notice is canceled by the Captain of the Port. Cancellation Notice
will be published in the Federal Register.
