Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee; Open Meeting
AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: As required by section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory
Committee Act [Public Law 92-463], EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs
(OPP) is giving notice of a public meeting of the Pesticide Program
Dialogue Committee (PPDC).
DATES: The meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 1997 from 9 a.m.
to 5:45 p.m. and Wednesday, March 19, 1997 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Ballroom.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION The PPDC is composed of a balanced group of
participants from the following sectors: pesticide industry and user
groups; federal agencies and state governments; consumer and
environmental/public interest groups, including representatives from
the general public; academia; the public health community; and,
congressional staff. The Committee was formed to foster communication
and understanding among the parties represented on the Committee and
with OPP. The Committee also provides advice and guidance to OPP
regarding pesticide regulatory, policy, and implementation issues.
PPDC meetings are open to the public. Outside statements by
observers are welcome. Oral statements will be limited to five minutes,
and it is preferred that only one person present the statement. Any
person who wishes to file a written statement can do so before or after
a Committee meeting. These statements will become part of the permanent
file and will be provided to the Committee members for their
information. Materials will be available for public review at the

Topics to be discussed at the March meeting are: the 1993
Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) which mandates the
measurement of budgeted program activities within the Federal
Government; minor use pesticides and the registration of pesticides to
meet emergency conditions (section 18 of the Federal Insecticide,
Fungicide and Rodenticide Act [FIFRA]); improving public
communications, as well as the public brochure regarding pesticide
residues in food required by the 1996 Food Quality Protection Act
(FQPA).
