        4. Substitute Original Sheet No. 21.
MidAmerican states that it is submitting these tariff sheets for
the purpose of complying with the requirements set forth in The
Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company, 77 FERC 61,172 (1996) and Section
18.0 of MidAmerican's Rate Schedule for Power Sales by separately
stating the prices for energy and transmission at on-peak and off-peak
rates. MidAmerican states that the amended filing does not state prices
for capacity and ancillary services because no sales of capacity or
ancillary services were made during the period in regard to
transactions under the Rate Schedule for Power Sales.
MidAmerican proposes an effective of October 1, 1996 for the rate
schedule change. Accordingly, MidAmerican requests a waiver of the 60-
day notice requirement for this filing. MidAmerican states that this
date is consistent with the requirements of Southern Company Services,
Inc., 75 FERC 61,130 (1996), and the effective date authorized in
    Docket No. ER96-2459-000.
