    SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

    I. Abstract

The Technical Advisory Committees (TACs) were established to advise
and assist the U.S. Government on export control matters. In managing
the operations of the TACs, the Department of Commerce is responsible
for implementing the policies and procedures prescribed in the Federal
Advisory Committee Act. The TACs advise the government on proposed
revisions to export control lists, licensing procedures, assessments of
the foreign availability of controlled products, and export control
    regulations.
Any producers which are subject to export controls because of their
significance to the national security of the U.S., or are being
considered for such controls, may request the Secretary of Commerce to
establish a TAC. Such requests must include a description of the
articles, materials, or supplies including technical data, and other
information supporting why a committee should be established. The
information will be used by BXA to determine whether to establish a
    TAC.
