Plains Petroleum Operating Co., Lakewood, CO; Affirmative 
Determination Regarding Application for Reconsideration

    On February 16, 1994, the petitioners requested administrative 
reconsideration of the Department of Labor's Notice of Negative 
Determination Regarding Eligibility to Apply for Worker Adjustment 
Assistance for workers at the subject firm. The Department's Negative 
Determination was issued on February 4, 1994 and was published in the 
Federal Register on February 23, 1994 (59 FR 8662).
    The petitioners, all involved in exploration, state that they are a 
separate appropriate subdivision from the Plains Operating Company and 
that their petition should be evaluated on the basis of the criteria 
relevant to the Exploration Group.

Conclusion

    After careful review of the application, I conclude that the claim 
is of sufficient weight to justify reconsideration of the Department of 
Labor's prior decision. The application is, therefore, granted.
