    Notice of Public Information Collections Being Reviewed by FCC 
    for Extension Under Delegated Authority; Comments Requested
    
    March 12, 1996.
    
    SUMMARY: The Federal Communications Commission, as part of its 
    continuing effort to reduce paperwork burden invites the general public 
    and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on the 
    following proposed and/or continuing information collections, as 
    required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, Public Law 104-13. 
    Comments are requested concerning (a) whether the proposed collection 
    of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions 
    of the Commission, including whether the information shall have 
    practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the Commissions burden 
    estimates; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the 
    information collected and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the 
    collection of information on the respondents, including the use of 
    automated collection techniques or other forms of information 
    technology. The FCC is reviewing the following information collection 
    requirements for possible 3-year extension under delegated authority 5 
    CFR 1320 to the Commission by the Office of Management and Budget 
    (OMB).
    
    DATES: Written comments should be submitted on or before [insert date 
    60 days after date of publication in the Federal Register]. If you 
    anticipate that you will be submitting comments, but find it difficult 
    to do so within the period of time allowed by this notice, you should

        Estimated Time Per Response: 1 hour per response.
    
        Total Annual Burden: 15 hours.
    
        Needs and Uses: The recordkeeping requirement contained in 13.217 
    is needed to assure that expenses and revenues collected by examination 
    managers administering the commercial operator examinations are 
    available if needed. If the information were not collected, it is 
    conceivable that fraud and abuse could occur in the commercial radio 
    examination program.
