W-32,561 Midway, GA and TA-W-32,516E Kingstree, SC
Amended Certification Regarding Eligibility To Apply for Worker
Adjustment Assistance
In accordance with Section 223 of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 USC
2273) the Department of Labor issued a Certification of Eligibility to
Apply for Worker Adjustment Assistance on September 17, 1996,
applicable to workers of Kingstree Knits, a Division of Texfi
Industries, Incorporated, located in Midway, Georgia. The notice was
published in the Federal Register on October 1, 1996 (61 FR 51303). The
worker certification was subsequently amended to include workers at
other production facilities of the subject firm.
At the request of petitioners, the Department reviewed the
certification for workers of the subject firm. New findings show that
workers separations have occurred at the subject firm's Kingstree,
South Carolina location. The workers produce tee shirts for women, men
and boys.
The intent of the Department's certification is to include all
workers of Kingstree Knits who were affected by increased imports.
Accordingly, the Department is amending the worker certification to
include the workers of Kingstree Knits, a Division of Texfi Industries,
Incorporated, located in Kingstree, South Carolina.
The amended notice applicable to TA-W-32,561 is hereby issued as
follows:
All workers of Kingstree Knits, a Division of Texfi Industries,
Incorporated, Midway, Georgia (TA-W-32,561) and Kingstree, South
Carolina (TA-W-32,561E), who became totally or partially separated
from employment on or after July 11, 1995, are eligible to apply for
adjustment assistance under Section 223 of the Trade Act of 1974.
Signed at Washington, DC, this 21st day of February 1997.
