COMMISSION ON IMMIGRATION REFORM
Commission on Immigration Reform; El Paso Hearing
AGENCY: U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform.
ACTION: Announcement of hearing.

This notice announces a public hearing of the Commission on
Immigration Reform. The Commission was established by the Immigration
Act of 1990 under section 141. The mandate of the Commission is to
review and evaluate the impact of U.S. immigration policy and transmit
to the Congress a report of its findings and recommendations. The
Commission's first report to Congress is due on September 30, 1994.
The Commission will hear from service agencies, state and local
officials, local businesses, researchers and other experts. The focus
of the meeting will be the impact of immigration on the El Paso and
border region.
DATES: March 17, 1994, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
