    Notice of Exchange Proposal; Proposed Exchange of Lands in Elko, 
    Eureka, and Humboldt Counties, Nevada N-59716
    
        United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land 
    Management, Elko District, 3900 E. Idaho St., Elko, Nevada 89801.
        Notice is hereby given that the Bureau of Land Management is 
    considering a proposal to exchange land pursuant to Section 206 of the 
    Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 (43 U.S.C. 1716), as 
    amended. The exchange has been proposed by Newmont Gold Company.
        Newmont Gold Company has proposed to exchange to the United States 
    the following described private land or interest in land:

        Subject to valid existing rights, the public land identified above 
    has been segregated from appropriation under the public land laws and 
    mineral laws.
        In accordance with 43 CFR 4110.4-2(b), this Notice of Exchange 
    Proposal constitutes 2 years' prior notification to grazing permittees 
    affected by this action. Completion of the exchange may result in 
    adjustments to the permitted use on public lands within the following 
    grazing allotments:
    
    Bullhead;
    Leppy Hills;
    UT/NV #1 North;
    Pilot;
        East Big Springs;
    West Big Springs.
    
        More detailed information concerning the proposed exchange may be

        Interested parties may submit comments concerning the proposed 
    exchange including notification of any liens, encumbrances, or other 
    claims relating to the lands being considered for exchange to the Field 
    Manager, Elko District, at the above address. In order to be considered 
    in the environmental analysis of the proposed exchange, comments must 
    be in writing to the Field Manager and postmarked or delivered within 
    45 days of initial publication of this notice.
