    Notice Pursuant to the National Cooperative Research and 
    Production Act of 1993--Bell Communications Research, Inc.
    
        Notice is hereby given that, on December 27, 1993, pursuant to 
    section 6(a) of the National Cooperative Research and Production Act of 
    1993, 15 U.S.C. 4301 et seq. (``the Act''), Bell Communications 
    Research, Inc. (``Bellcore'') has filed written notifications on behalf 
    of Bellcore and Wiltel, Inc. (``Wiltel'') simultaneously with the 
    Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission disclosing (1) the 
    identities of the parties and (2) the nature and objectives of the 
    venture. The notifications were filed for the purpose of involving the 
    Act's provisions limiting the recovery of antitrust plaintiffs to 
    actual damages under specified circumstances. Pursuant to section 6(b) 
    of the Act, the identities of the parties are Bellcore, Livingston, NJ; 
    and Wiltel, The Woodlands, TX. Bellcore and Wiltel entered into an 
    agreement effective as of December 10, 1993, to engage in cooperative 
    research related to technologies for ATM/SONET networking of video and 
    other multimedia communications services to better understand the 
    feasibility and application of these technologies for exchange and 
    exchange access services, including experimental prototypes for the 
    demonstration of such technologies.
