    AGENCY: Interstate Commerce Commission.
    
    ACTION: Notice of exemption.

    SUMMARY: Under 49 U.S.C. 10505, the Commission exempts from the prior 
    approval requirements of 49 U.S.C. 10903-04 the abandonment by 
    Chaparral Railroad Company, Inc. of rail common carrier operations over 
    approximately 56.5-miles of rail line, and the discontinuance of 
    approximately 24.1-miles of overhead trackage rights on The Atchison, 
    Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, in Lamar, Hunt, Delta, Fannin, 
    Collin and Dallas Counties, TX.
    
    DATES: The exemption will be effective April 23, 1995, unless stayed or 
    a statement of intent to file an offer of financial assistance (OFA) is 
    filed. Statements of intent to file an OFA under 49 CFR 1152.27(c)(2) 
    and requests for a notice of interim trail use/rail banking under 49 
    CFR 1152.29 must be filed by April 3, 1995, petitions to stay must be 
    filed by April 10, 1995, requests for a public use condition under 49 
    CFR 1152.28 must be filed by April 13, 1995, and petitions to reopen 
    must be filed by April 18, 1995.
