Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company; Notice of Compliance Filing

March 19, 1997.
    Take notice that on March 14, 1997, Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line 
Company (Panhandle) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, 
First Revised Volume No. 1, the tariff sheets listed on Appendix A 
attached to the filing, proposed to be effective October 1, 1996 and 
March 1, 1997, as defined therein. Panhandle assets that the purpose of 
this filing is to comply with the Commission's order issued February 
28, 1997 in Docket No. RP96-348-000, 78 FERC para. 61,202 (1977).
    Panhandle states that copies of this filing are being served on all 
affected customers, applicable state regulatory agencies and all 
parties to this proceeding.
    All person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest 
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., 
Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed in 
accordance with Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. 
Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the 
appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants 
parties to the proceeding. Copies of this filing are on file with the 
Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public 
Reference Room.
