    SUMMARY: Presidential Proclamation 6579 of July 4, 1993 (58 FR 36839),
implemented an accelerated schedule of duty elimination for certain
goods originating in the territory of Canada pursuant to the United
States-Canada Free-Trade Agreement. Section B of the Annex to that
Proclamation directed the U.S. Trade Representative to specify the
effective date for the duty elimination on enumerated goods, to
coincide with the date of implementation of the North American Free
Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and to publish a notice in the Federal
Register. The NAFTA entered into force between the United States and
Canada on January 1, 1994. Accordingly, notice is hereby given that the
provisions of section B of the Annex to Proclamation 6579 are effective
with respect to goods of Canada, under the terms of general note 12 to
the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, that are entered,
or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after January 1,
    1994.
