The Department of Labor (DOL) has submitted the following public
information collection requests (ICRs) to the Office of Management and
Budget (OMB) for review and approval in accordance with the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1995 (Pub. L. 104-13, 44 U.S.C. Chapter 35). A copy of
each individual ICR, with applicable supporting documentation, may be
obtained by calling the Department of Labor, Departmental Clearance
Officer, Teresa M. O'Malley ((202) 219-5096 ext. 143). Individuals who

* Evaluate whether the proposed collection of information is
necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency,

* Enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to
be collected; and
* Minimize the burden of the collection of information on those who
are to respond, including through the use of appropriate automated,
electronic, mechanical, or other technological collection techniques or
other forms of information technology, e.g., permitting electronic
submission of responses.

Title: Application for Authority for an Institution of Higher
Learning to Employ its Full-Time Students at Subminimum Wages Under
Regulations at 29 CFR Part 519.
OMB Number: 1215-0080 (extension).
Frequency: Annually.
Affected Public: Individuals or households; Business or other for-
profit.
Number of Respondents: 50.
Estimated Time Per Respondent: 15 to 30 minutes.
Total Burden Hours: 15.
Total Annualized capital/startup costs: 0.
Total annual costs (operating/maintaining systems or purchasing
services): $17.50.
Description: The Form WH-201 is completed by an employer, in order
to obtain authorization, pursuant to section 14(b) of the Fair Labor
Standards Act to pay full-time students at a wage rate lower than the
statutory Federal minimum wage. If this information was not collected,
employers would not have a mechanism to apply for permission to pay
full-time students at subminimum wages, and job opportunities for full-
time students would be reduced.

Description: The Consumer Expenditure Surveys are used to gather
information on expenditures, income, and other related subjects. These
data are used to periodically update the National Consumer Price Index.
The data are collected from a national probability sample of households
designed to represent the total civilian non-institutional population.
