AGENCY: Federal Communications Commission.
ACTION: Proposed rule; dismissal of.

SUMMARY: The Commission, at the request of KG Broadcasting, Inc.,
dismisses its petition proposing the substitution of Channel 223B1 for
Channel 223A at Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, and the modification of
Station WKGB-FM's license accordingly. To accommodate the upgrade,
petitioner also requested the substitution of Channel 248A for Channel
221A at Walton, New York, and the modification of Station WDLA-FM
license accordingly. See 62 FR 41015, July 31, 1997. A showing of
continuing interest is required before a channel can be allotted to a
community. It is Commission policy, absent such an expression of
interest, to refrain from allotting the channel. With this action, this
proceeding is terminated.
