    SUMMARY:

    In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA), the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (Bureau) is requesting to renew the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval for an existing information collection titled, “Consumer Response Government and Congressional Portal Boarding Forms.”

    SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

    Title of Collection: Consumer Response Government and Congressional Portal Boarding Forms.

    OMB Control Number: 3170-0057.

    Type of Review: Revision of a currently approved collection.

    Affected Public: State, Local, and Tribal Governments; Federal Government.

    Estimated Number of Respondents: 60.

    Estimated Total Annual Burden Hours: 14.

    Abstract: Section 1013(b)(3)(A) of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Act) requires the Bureau to “facilitate the centralized collection of, monitoring of, and response to consumer complaints regarding consumer financial products or services.” [1] The Act also requires the Bureau to “share consumer complaint information with prudential regulators, the Federal Trade Commission, other Federal agencies, and State agencies.” [2]

    In furtherance of its statutory mandates related to consumer complaints, the Bureau utilizes Government and Congressional Portal Boarding Forms (Boarding Forms) to register users for access to secure, web-based portals. The Bureau has developed separate portals for congressional users and other government users as part of its secure web portal offerings (the “Government Portal” and the “Congressional Portal,” respectively).[3]

    Request for Comments: The Bureau issued a 60-day Federal Register notice on December 17, 2018, 83 FR 64567, Docket Number: CFPB-2018-0040. Comments were solicited and continue to be invited on: (a) Whether the collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the Bureau, including whether the information will have practical utility; (b) The accuracy of the Bureau's estimate of the burden of the collection of information, including the Start Printed Page 12236validity of the methods and the assumptions used; (c) Ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and (d) Ways to minimize the burden of the collection of information on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology. Comments submitted in response to this notice will be reviewed by OMB as part of its review of this request. All comments will become a matter of public record.
