Recomputation of Life Insurance Reserves; Hearing Cancellation

AGENCY: Internal Revenue Service, Treasury.

ACTION: Cancellation of notice of public hearing on proposed 
rulemaking.

SUMMARY: This document provides notice of cancellation of a public 
hearing on proposed regulations relating to the definition of life 
insurance reserves.

DATES: The public hearing originally scheduled for April 17, 1997, 
beginning at 10 a.m. is cancelled.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The subject of the public hearing is 
proposed amendments to the Income Tax Regulations under sections 816 
and 801 of the Internal Revenue Code. A notice of proposed rulemaking 
and public hearing appearing in the Federal Register on Thursday, 
January 2, 1997 (62 FR 71), announced that a public hearing would be 
held on Thursday, April 17, 1997, beginning at 10 a.m., in room 3313, 
Internal Revenue Building, 1111 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 
20224.
    The public hearing scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 1997, is 
cancelled.
