Northwest Pipeline Corporation; Notice of Proposed Changes in
    FERC Gas Tariff

    April 14, 1997.
Take notice that on April 1, 1997, Northwest Pipeline Corporation
(Northwest) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, Third
Revised Volume No. 1 and Original Volume No. 2, the tariff sheets
listed on Appendix A to the filing, to be effective June 1, 1997.
Northwest states that this filing is submitted to propose a number
of additions or modifications to its tariff to incorporate changes or
to provide new services spawned by adoption of the standards of the Gas
Industry Standards Board as reflected in FERC Order Nos. 587 et seq.,
in Docket Nos. RM96-1-000, et seq. Specifically, Northwest proposes:
    (1) To implement a procedure for providing pooling services to comply
with the Commission's Order on Compliance Filing issued on February 18,
1997, in Docket No. RP97-180-000; (2) to restate Northwest's monthly
rates as daily rates; and (3) to add definitions to clarify terms used
in the GISB Standards and in Northwest's tariff.
Any person desiring to be heard or protest this filing should file
a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, DC 20426, in accordance
with Sections 385.214 and 385.211 of the Commission's Rules and
Regulations. All such motions or protests must be filed on or before
April 21, 1997. Protests will be considered by the Commission in
determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to
make protestants parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to
become a party must file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing
are on file with the Commission and are available for public inspection
    in the Public Reference Room.
