Notice Pursuant to the National Cooperative Research and
Production Act of 1993--CAD Framework Initiative, Inc.
Notice is hereby given that, on March 7, 1994, pursuant to section
6(a) of the National Cooperative Research and Production Act of 1993,
15 U.S.C. 4301 et seq. (``the Act''), CAD Framework Initiative, Inc.
(``CFI'') has filed written notifications simultaneously with the
Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission disclosing certain
changes in its membership. The notifications were filed for the purpose
of extending the Act's provisions limiting the recovery of antitrust
plaintiffs to actual damages under specified circumstances.
Specifically, these changes are as follows:
(1) Semiconductor Research Corp., Research Triangle Park, NC, has
joined as a new Corporate Member;
(2) John Chilton, Scotts Valley, CA, has joined as a new individual
member;
(3) Vantage Analysis Systems, Inc., has merged with Viewlogic
Systems, Inc., Freemont, CA, which will maintain its membership as
Sponsor;
(4) Siemens Nixdorf has not renewed its Corporate Membership; and
(5) Associate Members: Applied Physics Lab; Canadian
Microelectronics; CNET-Grenoble; CPCD-Telelabs; and Massachusetts
Institute of Technology have not renewed their memberships in CFI.
On December 30, 1988, CFI filed its original notification pursuant
to section 6(a) of the Act. That filing was amended on February 7,
1989. The Department of Justice published a notice concerning the
amended filing in the Federal Register pursuant to section 6(b) of the
Act on March 13, 1989 (54 FR 10456). A correction notice was published
on April 20, 1989 (54 FR 16013).
The last notification was filed with the Department on November 1,
1993. A notice was published in the Federal Register pursuant to
section 6(b) of the Act on February 15, 1994 (59 FR 7268).
