    AGENCIES: Department of Defense (DOD), General Services Administration 
    (GSA), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
    
    ACTION: Notice of request for an extension to an existing OMB clearance 
    (9000-0119).

    SUMMARY: Under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 
    (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 
    Secretariat has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) 
    a request to review and approve an extension of a currently approved 
    information collection requirement concerning Performance Bond for 
    Other Than Construction. A request for public comments was published at 
    61 FR 3379, January 31, 1996. No comments were received.

    SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
    
    A. Purpose
    
        The new Standard Form (SF) 1418, Performance Bond for Other than 
    Construction, is being proposed for establishment. This coincides with 
    the proposed rule, FAR case 91-27, providing a contract clause 
    governing performance bonds for other than construction. The terms and 
    conditions governing performance bonds for construction and other than 
    construction may vary. The SF 1418 is being created to reflect these 
    different terms and conditions.
    B. Annual Reporting Burden
    
        Public reporting burden for this collection of information is 
    estimated to average 25 minutes per completion, including the time for 
    reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and 
    maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the 
    collection of information.-
    
        The annual reporting burden is estimated as follows: Respondents, 
    500; responses per respondent, 5; total annual responses, 2,500; 
    preparation hours per response, .5; and total response burden hours, 
    1,250.
