    Docket No.: FAA-2017-0101.

    Petitioner: Ryan Poteet.

    Section of 14 CFR Affected: 21.9 (c).

Description of Relief Sought: Ryan Poteet is requesting on behalf of Advanced Composite Structures Florida (ACSF) for an exemption from § 21.9 (c) of Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR). The relief sought would allow ACSF to determine whether specific composite main rotor blades (CMRB) that were designed for the U.S. military, but sold to and operated by a foreign military, are in a condition for safe operation and are airworthy. § 21.9 (c) prohibits a person from selling surplus military articles for installation on aircraft unless the article was first accepted for use and declared surplus by the U.S. military.
