Netting Rule for Certain Conversion Transactions; Hearing 
Cancellation

AGENCY: Internal Revenue Service, Treasury.

ACTION: Cancellation of notice of public hearing on proposed 
regulations.

SUMMARY: This document provides notice of cancellation of a public 
hearing on proposed regulations relating to the amount of gain from a 
conversion transaction position that is subject to recharacterization 
as ordinary income.

DATES: The public hearing originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, 
1995, beginning at 10 a.m. is cancelled.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The subject of the public hearing is 
proposed regulations under section 1258(a) of the Internal Revenue Code 
of 1986. A notice of proposed rulemaking and notice of public hearing 
appearing in the Federal Register for Tuesday, December 27, 1994 (59 FR 
66498), announced that the public hearing on proposed regulations under 
section 1258(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 would be held on 
Tuesday, April 25, 1995, beginning at 10 a.m., in the IRS Auditorium 
Internal Revenue Building, 1111 Constitution Avenue NW., Washington, 
D.C.
    The public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, 1995, is 
cancelled.
