Meeting of the Board of Scientific Counselors, National Center
for Biotechnology Information, National Library of Medicine
Pursuant to Public Law 92-463, notice is hereby given of the
meeting of the Board of Scientific Counselors, National Center for
Biotechnology Information, National Library of Medicine, on April 7-8,
1997.
The meeting on April 8 will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3
p.m. in the Board Room of the Library, 8600 Rockville Pike, Bethesda,
Maryland, for the review of research and development programs and
preparation of reports of the National Center for Biotechnology
Information. Attendance by the public will be limited to space
available. Individuals who plan to attend and need special assistance,
such as sign language interpretation or other reasonable
accommodations, should contact Dr. David Lipman at 301-496-2475.
In accordance with provisions set forth in section 552b(c)(6),
Title 5 U.S.C., and sec. 10(d) of Public Law 92-463, the meeting will
be closed to the public on April 7 from 7 p.m. to approximately 10
p.m., at the Bethesda Hyatt Hotel, and on April 8, from 3 p.m. to
approximately 5 p.m., in the Board Room of the National Library of
Medicine, for the consideration of personnel qualifications and
performance of individual investigators and similar items, the
disclosure of which would constitute an unwarranted invasion of
personal privacy.
The Executive Secretary, Dr. David J. Lipman, Director, National
Center for Biotechnology Information, National Library of Medicine,
8600 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland 20894, telephone (301) 496-
2475, will furnish summaries of the meeting, rosters of committee
members, and substantive program information.
This notice is being published less than fifteen days prior to the
meeting due to the urgent need to meet timing limitations imposed by
the intramural research review cycle.
