Submission for OMB Review; Comment Request

    The Department of Commerce (DOC) has submitted to the Office of 
Management and Budget (OMB) for clearance the following proposal for 
collection of information under provisions of the Paperwork Reduction 
Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).
    Agency: Bureau of Export Administration (BXA).
    Title: Notification of Delivery Verification Requirement.
    Agency Form Number: BXA 648P.
    OMB Approval Number: 0694-0008.
    Type of Request: Extension of a currently approved collection.
    Burden: 1 hour.
    Avg. Hours Per Response: 30 minutes.
    Number of Respondents: 2.
    Needs and Uses: In order to increase the effectiveness of export 
controls on international trade in strategic commodities, certain 
countries participate in the Import Certificate/Delivery Verification 
(IC/DV) procedure. Under this procedure, U.S. exporters may be notified 
that they must obtain from their foreign consignee an ``Import 
Certificate.'' This Certificate, which is issued by the foreign 
government, certifies that the commodities exported were actually 
delivered to the foreign consignee. When this Certification has been 
received, the U.S. exporters must complete the BXA form and return it 
and the Import Certificate to BXA. This Certificate can be used as an 
enforcement tool.
    Affected Public: Businesses or other for-profit organizations, not-
for-profit institutions, individuals.
    Frequency: On occasion.
