Council on Graduate Medical Education Meeting
In accordance with section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory
Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-463), announcement is made of the following
National Advisory body scheduled to meet during the month of May 1998:
Name: Council on Graduate Medical Education.
Date and Time: May 6, 1998, 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.; May 7, 1998,
8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Place: Bethesda Ramada, 8400 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD.
This meeting is open to the Public.
Agenda: The agenda will include: opening comments, welcome, and
presentations from the Acting Administrator, Health Resources and
Services Administration, the Acting Associate Administrator for
Health Professions and the Acting Executive Secretary of COGME; a
panel on financing graduate medical education to include cost,
financing and related issues in GME; Medicare proposed rules on GME
payment to non-hospital providers; and GME restructuring at the
Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition, there will be a
presentation on family physician supply projections for rural areas;
action on a draft report on Physician Competencies; a discussion of
work group activities and papers; and a discussion of Council work
and direction.
