Accounting Relief for Marginal Properties
AGENCY: Minerals Management Service, Interior.
ACTION: Proposed rule; notice of extension of public comment period.

SUMMARY: The Minerals Management Service hereby gives notice that it is
extending the public comment period on a notice of proposed rule, which
was published in the Federal Register on January 21, 1999, (64 FR
3360). The proposed rule would implement legislation for Federal oil
and gas leases. The new regulations would explain to lessees and their
designees how to obtain accounting and auditing relief for Federal
marginal properties. In response to requests for additional time, MMS
will extend the comment period for 15 days.
DATES: Comments must be submitted on or before May 6, 1999.
