    Foreign-Trade Zone 168--Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Application for 
    Expansion
    
        An application has been submitted to the Foreign-Trade Zones Board 
    (the Board) by the Dallas/Fort Worth Maquila Trade Development 
    Corporation (MTDC), grantee of FTZ 168, requesting authority to expand 
    its zone in the Fort Worth, Texas, area, within the Dallas/Fort Worth 
    Customs port of entry. The application was submitted pursuant to the 
    provisions of the Foreign-Trade Zones Act, as amended (19 U.S.C. 81a-
    81u), and the regulations of the Board (15 CFR Part 400). It was 
    formally filed on April 3, 1996.
        FTZ 168 was approved on November 1, 1990 (Board Order 491, 55 FR 
    46974, 11/8/90) and reorganized in 1992 and 1994. The zone currently 
    consists of three sites in the Fort Worth, Texas, area:
    
    Site 1  (24 acres)--an industrial area at Alta Mesa and Will Rogers 
    Boulevards, Fort Worth;
    Site 2  (263 acres)--within the Centreport industrial development, 
    south of DFW International Airport, Fort Worth;
    Site 3  (195 acres)--within the Fossil Creek Business Park, I-35W and 
    I-820, Fort Worth.
    
        An application is currently pending (Doc. 77-95, 60 FR 61528, 11/
    30/95) for a fourth site located at the Regency Business Park, Post & 
    Paddock Road, Grand Prairie, Texas, west of the City of Dallas.
        The applicant is now applying for a fifth site (630 acres) within 
    the 1,200-acre Mercantile Center, located at I-35 and Meacham 
    Boulevard, Fort Worth, Texas. The site is owned by Mercantile Partners, 
    L.P., a Texas Limited Partnership. Zone services will be provided by 
    the FTZ Operating Company of Texas.
        No specific manufacturing requests are being made at this time. 
    Such requests would be made to the Board on a case-by-case basis.
        In accordance with the Board's regulations, a member of the FTZ 
    Staff has been designated examiner to investigate the application and 
    report to the Board.
        Public comment on the application is invited from interested 
    parties. Submissions (original and 3 copies) shall be addressed to the 
    Board's Executive Secretary at the address below. The closing period 
    for their receipt is June 24, 1996. Rebuttal comments in response to 
    material submitted during the foregoing period may be submitted during 
    the subsequent 15-day period (to July 8, 1996).
