Even Start Statewide Family Literacy Initiative Grants; Notice 
Extending the Application Deadline Date for New Even Start Statewide 
Family Literacy Initiative Grant Awards With Fiscal Year (FY) 1995 
Funds

SUMMARY: The Secretary extends the deadline date for the submission of 
applications for new Even Start Statewide Family Literacy Initiative 
grant awards with FY 1995 funds to May 31, 1996. A notice was published 
in the Federal Register on March 26, 1996 (61 FR 13358) specifying that 
the application deadline for these awards was May 10, 1996. In response 
to requests from the public for a longer period to prepare 
applications, the Department has decided to extend the application 
deadline.
