    Viking Gas Transmission Company; Notice of Filing
    
    April 20, 1999.
        Take notice that on April 15, 1999, Viking Gas Transmission Company 
    (Viking) tendered for filing a Motion To Place Settlement Rates into 
    Effect on an Interim Basis Subject To Conditions (Motion) and tendered 
    for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, First Revised Volume No. 1, 
    the following tariff sheets to become effective January 1, 1999 subject 
    to the conditions set forth in Viking's Motion:
    
    Fifteenth Revised Sheet No. 6
    Ninth Revised Sheet No. 6A
    
        Viking states that the purpose of this filing is to place the 
    Settlement Rates into effect on an interim basis subject to certain 
    conditions in accordance with the Offer of Settlement filed in this 
    proceeding on March 16, 1999 and certified to the Commission as 
    uncontested on April 7, 1999.
        Viking states that copies of this filing have been served on all 
    parties designated on the official service list in this proceeding, on 
    all Viking's jurisdictional customers and to affected state regulatory 
    commissions.
        Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest 
    with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., 
    Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
    Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as 
    provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests 
    will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate 
    action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to 
    the proceedings. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission 
    and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
