    AGENCY: Forest Service, USDA.
    
    ACTION: Revised notice of intent to prepare an environmental impact 
    statement.

    SUMMARY: In accordance with Forest Service Handbook 1909.15, Chapter 
    21.2, it is necessary to publish a revised notice of intent in the 
    Federal Register regarding any major changes, such as a delay of more 
    than 6 months in filing either the draft or final EIS. Notice is hereby 
    given that the Draft EIS for the Hobo Cornwall Project area should be 
    available for public review in June, 1994 and the Final EIS is 
    scheduled to be completed by January, 1995.
        Notice is also hereby given that the purpose and need stated in the 
    initial NOI has been changed to incorporate ecosystem management 
    principles. The revised purpose and need for this project is as 
    follows:
    
     To achieve goals, objectives, and desired future conditions 
    for the Hobo Cornwall Project Area as described in the Forest Plan 
    (1987) for the Idaho Panhandle National Forests.
     To provide wood products from the National Forest.
     To provide a viable ecosystem management plan within the Hobo 
    Cornwall Project Area consistent with the management of all National 
    Forest lands.

    32967, dated Friday, July 24, 1992.
