-
Start Preamble
April 21, 2010.
On November 3, 2008, the Bishop Paiute Tribe filed an application for a preliminary permit, pursuant to section 4(f) of the Federal Power Act (FPA), proposing to study the feasibility of the Bishop Paiute Hydroelectric Project to be located on a new penstock between the base of a mine and Morgan Creek in Inyo County, California. The proposed project would be located within the Inyo National Forest on lands of the U.S. Forest Service. The sole purpose of a preliminary permit, if issued, is to grant the permit holder priority to file a license application during the permit term. A preliminary permit does not authorize the permit holder to perform any land-disturbing activities or otherwise enter upon lands or waters owned by others without the owners' express permission.Start Printed Page 22580
