SUMMARY: In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980 (44 
U.S.C. Chapter 35), the Railroad Retirement Board has submitted the 
following proposal(s) for the collection of information to the Office 
of Management and Budget for review and approval.

Summary of Proposal(s)

(1) Collection title: Application for Hospital Insurance Benefits.
(2) Form(s) submitted: AA-6, AA-7, AA-8.
(3) OMB Number: 3220-0082.
(4) Expiration date of current OMB clearance: Three years from date of 
OMB approval.
(5) Type of request: Extension of the expiration date of a currently 
approved collection without any change in the substance or in the 
method of collection.
(6) Frequency of response: On occasion.
(7) Respondents: Individuals or households.
(8) Estimated annual number of respondents: 575.
(9) Total annual responses: 575.
(10) Average time per response: .1322 hours.
(11) Total annual reporting hours: 76.
(12) Collection description: The Board administers the Medicare program 
for persons covered by the railroad retirement system. The collection 
obtains information about non-retired employees and survivor applicants 
needed for enrollment in the plan.
