National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection;
Meeting
Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the National Advisory
Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection will be held on Tuesday, May
24 and Wednesday, May 25, 1994, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, at the
Fountain Suites Hotel, 321 Bercut Drive, Sacramento, California 95814,
telephone (916) 441-1444.
The Committee provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary
of Agriculture pertaining to the meat and poultry inspection programs,
pursuant to sections 7(c), 24, 205, 301(a)(3), 301(c) of the Federal
Meat Inspection Act, 21 U.S.C. 607(c), 624, 645, 661(a)(3) and 661(c)
and sections 5(a)(3), 5(a)(4), 5(c), 8(b) and 11(e) of the Poultry
Products Inspection Act, 21 U.S.C. 454(a)(3), 454(c), 457(b), and
460(e).
The meeting will include discussion of as much of the following
topics as time will permit:
1. Topics suggested by the Committee;
2. Standards and labeling issues;
3. Exemptions update;
4. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP);
5. Unfinished business and items from the audience.
The Committee meeting is open to the public on a space available
basis. Interested persons may file comments prior to and following the
meeting. Comments should be addressed to: Mr. Craig Fedchock, Advisory

Inspection Service, room 3175, South Agriculture Building, 14th and
