    Viking Gas Transmission Company; Notice of Filing
    
    May 4, 1999.
        Take notice that on April 27, 1999, Viking Gas Transmission Company 
    (``Viking'') tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, First 
    Revised Volume No. 1, the following tariff sheets with a proposed 
    effective date of May 27, 1999:
    
    Second Revised Sheet No. 68
    Original Sheet No. 85A
    Fourth Revised Sheet No. 86
    
        The purpose of this filing is to provide for the reservation of 
    capacity for use in future expansion projects. Reservation of capacity 
    shall enable Viking to maximize the efficient use of capacity that is 
    or will become available and shall minimize the cost of construction 
    and the environmental impacts of new facilities consistent with 
    existing Commission precendent.
        Viking states that copies of the filing have been mailed to all of 
    its jurisdictional customers and to affected state regulatory 
    commissions.
        Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
    file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
    Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., Washington, DC 20426, in 
    accordance with rules 211 and 214 of the Commission's Rules of Practice 
    and Procedure. All such motions or protests should be filed in 
    accordance with section 154.210 of the Commission's regulations. 
    Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the 
    appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants 
    parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party must 
    file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the 
    Commission and are available for public inspection. This filing may be
