ACTION: Cancellation of notice of public hearing on proposed 
rulemaking.

SUMMARY: This document provides notice of cancellation of a public 
hearing on proposed regulations relating to implementing a provision of 
the Tax reform Act of 1984 permitting the reissuance of mortgage credit 
certificates.

DATES: The public hearing originally scheduled for May 22, 1996, 
beginning at 10:00 a.m. is cancelled.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The subject of the public hearing is 
proposed amendments to the Income Tax Regulations under section 25 of 
the Internal Revenue Code. A notice of public hearing appearing in the 
Federal Register on Friday, April 5, 1996 (61 FR 15204), announced that 
a public hearing would be held on Wednesday, May 22, 1996, beginning at 
10:00 a.m., in the Commissioners Conference Room, Internal Revenue 
Building, 1111 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20224.
    The public hearing scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 1996, is 
cancelled.
