Extension of Comment Period on Concept for Purchase of Non-
Hydropower Renewable Resources and Solicitation of Interest

AGENCY: Western Area Power Administration, DOE.

ACTION: Notice of extension.

SUMMARY: Western Area Power Administration is extending the comment 
period fifteen(15) days on its Concept for Purchase of Non-hydropower 
Renewable Resources and Solicitation of Interest published in the 
Federal Register on April 15, 1996 (61FR16480). The April 15, 1996, 
Federal Register notice requested comments on Western adopting a policy 
to purchase a portion of its expected purchase power requirements, on a 
project-by-project basis and in a competitive manner, from non-
hydropower renewable resource producers.

DATES: To be considered, comments and other input in response to the 
Federal Register notice published on April 15, 1996, need to be 
received by Western by close of business on May 31, 1996. Comments 
should be addressed to: Michael S. Cowan, Acting Chief Program Officer, 
Western Area Power Administration, P.O. Box 3402, Golden, CO 80401.
